Description:

Reluctantly for sale is the UK's (and probably the world's) only example of the RH7b Tigerlight.

The Tigerlight is a home built, single seat bi-plane of conventional wood and fabric construction, very similar to the Currie Wot. It was built between 1993 and 2003, and flew for a while between 2003 and 2004. It was sadly damaged when a hanger collapsed at Deptford and was placed in storage until last year.

I acquired the aircraft for use as a non-airworthy project for the cadet squadron at which I instruct. Unfortunately, the health and safety Nazis have had their way and prevented the cadets ever touching it. With space currently at a premium, the aircraft has got to go ASAP.

As it stands, the aircraft fuselage / tail appear in pretty good condition, although will definitely require re-skinning. The engine is missing (originally a 503), but the engine mount, instruments, cowlings and prop are all with it. The wings are in a less good condition. The two L/H wings have superficial damage, but the two R/H + upper centre section (which once housed the fuel tank) are a write off. Many of the wing parts could be reused in building two new ones, and all of the hardware / metal work appears good on the damaged wings.

Also included are a comprehensive set of build manuals. These include all of the design drawings for every part of the aircraft, and all of the original build notes and diary. There are also hundreds of photos of the entire build.

This aircraft is never going to represent a practical tourer, but should instead be regarded as a fascinating home built curio. We spent very little on the aircraft, and are only looking to make our money back, hence offers around ?350. It has to go soon, or face the chop all together, so make us an offer.
