The engine has been upgraded to 160 hp and currently has less than 300 hours. An engine fund is in place which remains part of the group and will fully fund overhaul when due.

Monthly charge is £120 pcm and flying cost £85 wet per tach hour, Kirknewton has it's own bowser and fuel is supplied at wholesale cost which means a good proportion of the hourly cost goes towards maintenance and upgrades so annual and 50 hour checks are usually fully funded, excess is retained in group funds.

Apart from the usual pilot maintenance there is a strict ‘no tinkering' policy and maintenance performed by a professional organisation, currently ACS at Perth. Outstanding items are cleared and not left to build up.

Group constitution requires minimum 100 hours TT
