Description:

An opportunity to purchase a one fifth share in a 90 hp Piper Super Cub based and hangared at Popham Airfield.

G-AMEN is a 1952 Piper L18C Super Cub, originally built for the US Air Force, later operated as a basic trainer by the Italian Air Force, and subsequently imported into the UK in the 1980s and restored and operated as a private group aeroplane ever since. One of the engineers involved in the original restoration is still in the group today.

The engine has recently undergone an extensive strip down, inspection and rebuild, and the aircraft has a brand new propeller. A Trig 8.33khz Radio and a Trig Mode S Transponder are fitted. (Please note that the cockpit photo shown was taken before the radio installation was upgraded). Most routine maintenance is carried out in house helping to keep costs down. Members currently pay £65 p/m towards overheads and £50 p/h (wet - charged brakes off to brakes on). Membership of Popham’s Spitfire Flying Club covers all home base landing fees.

The Permit To Fly has just been renewed until June 2026, and the aircraft has good availability.
