A brand new unopened Avidyne IFD440 unit for sale (with tray and aerial). The unit was purchased from the USA for a friend for an aircraft upgrade however the deal fell through and I am now stuck with it.
I have two IFD440s installed in my own aircraft and they are fantastic. My units are integrated with a STEC50 autopilot, Garmin G5 and KI206 (requires GAD29B). I am very happy with the results, especially the GPSS steering. I can personally vouch for the quality of this unit and the technical support has also been fantastic.
The IFD440 has similar (maybe even superior) functionality to the Garmin GTN650 but are far more intuitive and easy to use. (photographs are of my IFD440 unit, the unit for sale is in a sealed box, I can provide a photo of the sealed box if requested).
Avidyne advertise the IFD440 unit as being a plug and play
replacement for a Garmin GNS430 however I understand from my installer that the aerial (worth £200 and included) and a few other small things require changing.
This unit comes with the WiFi, Bluetooth and FLTA enabled (worth an extra £1,000). I live in Northeast London and my closest airfields are North Weald and Stapleford so can meet there if flying in. I can also show you the same unit working in my aircraft (with the tablet app) at Stapleford (you'll be impressed).
If interested please make an offer. Bear in mind that this unit with this functionality in the UK retails for ~£12,000.
