Vetterman noise reduction Muffler for Lycoming engines 400

Specifications:

Manufacturer: Vetterman

Model: Lycoming Engines

Age:4

Description:

Simple aft section exhaust pipe swap.
LAA certified 15421 Mod acquired for Permit Vans RV7 in 2020.

This Vetterman silencer muffler kit comes with a brand new and unused RV6/RV7 'attachment bracket kit'.

The insides of both muffler ‘cans' contain bespoke conical drilled baffles which very effectively kills the exhaust pipe noise output without reducing power output or raising CHTs/EGTs.

Imported new from Vetterman USA and fitted to a 180Hp Lycoming engine from in 2020, and using sound monitoring equipment, we calculated a significant noise reduction level of around 6Db using sound level meter, proving Vetterman's research to be correct.

This muffler only adds 2.5lbs of weight over the standard Lycoming mufflers but yields a significant noise reduction by comparison.

Installation in about one hour, as it only involves unbolting both aft standard Lycoming exhaust sections and bolting these two replacement sections on without any engine cowling modifications (can use existing standard aft exhaust brackets).

Benefits:

Vetterman measured a 6DB noise reduction with their dual mufflers (verified)

LAA Mod 15421 for Vans aircraft already established so applying for this Mod is straightforward.

Easy installation - almost a like for like swap for both aft exhaust sections.

Vetterman test bed measured no change in performance, CHTs or EGTs (verified)

Fairly new system so in great condition with only 120 hours run (Always hangared)
Improved Cabin Heating with larger heat mix can on starboard exhaust pipe.

Aircraft Spruce sell these Vetterman Muffler kits online for $1479 plus shipping costs, but I am only asking £400 for both pipes and attachment kit
