1957 De Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth conversation: Thruxton Jackaroo
Prototype aircraft - Series 1.

For sale, Thruxton Jackaroo, registration G-AOEX, which is the 'Series 1' prototype from a modified DH82A Tiger Moth.
The Jackaroo was developed at Thruxton aerodrome in Hampshire to create a four-seat cabin biplane, using war surplus Tiger Moth air frames. Two prototypes were built at Thruxton in 1956; G-AOEX was finished as a standard four-seater with cabin and known as a Series 1. It was test flown by Lt-Cdr Pat Shea-Simonds on March 2, 1957.
Following the flight of the first prototype in March 1957, a total of nineteen aircraft were converted, three for use as crop sprayers". G-AOEX is 1 of only 5 that are airworthy today.
Restoration was complete December 22, will come with a new ‘Permit to Fly' issued by the LAA and very low flying hours since restoration complete.
Formally owned and operated by the Wiltshire School of Flying, still in WSF red and silver colours.
Aircraft has always been hangered during ownership (since 1985)
