The Europa Classic is a true icon of British aviation, combining elegance, innovation and performance in a beautifully engineered design. Conceived in the early 1990s by Ivan Shaw, the Europa was created to deliver what personal flying should be: fast, efficient, affordable and accessible. More than 450 Europas have since taken to the skies, each one a testament to the aircraft’s enduring appeal and remarkable versatility.

With its streamlined composite airframe and low canopy, the Europa Classic achieves cruise speeds of up to 140 mph while returning an impressive 50 miles per gallon, making it one of the most fuel-efficient touring aircraft in its class. Rigging for flight takes less than five minutes, it runs happily on Mogas, and with comfortable seating for two plus generous baggage space, it is as practical for cross-country touring as it is for weekend flying.

This particular Europa, G-CCUY, is fitted with the popular tricycle undercarriage for ease of handling and additional reassurance on the ground, without compromising the aircraft’s renowned performance. In addition, MOD 52 has been installed, increasing the Maximum Take-Off Weight to 1,370 lbs. The associated flight test to finalise this upgrade is yet to be carried out, offering the new owner the opportunity to complete and benefit from this enhanced capability.
