Overview: A much-loved, highly dependable, and beautifully rebuilt Rans S6-ES. Saved from long-term storage in September 2023 at 220 hours (having been out of service since 2014), this aircraft was subjected to a meticulous, no-expense-spared, total strip-down and rebuild. It has since been flown all over the country and is a proven, "hands-off" cross-country machine. Only selling to free up hangar space for an ongoing project.
### Aircraft & Engine Status
Airframe: 496 hours total since new. Fully rebuilt in late 2023.
Engine: 498 hours total since new. Top-end overhaul completed at 331 hours with new pistons and cageless roller bearings. Running beautifully.
Permit: Current permit expires October 2026. Will be sold with a fresh annual/permit if sold sooner; otherwise, the annual will be completed in October as scheduled.
### The Rebuild (No Expense Spared)
During the 2023 rebuild at 220 hours, virtually everything was renewed to ensure maximum safety and longevity:
Skins: Full set of premium XLAM skins with Tenara thread, custom-made by Top Flight Sails.
Hardware: All brand-new flying wires, pulleys, and a complete replacement of nuts and bolts throughout.
Glass: New Lexan installed in both the doors and the windscreen for crystal-clear visibility.
Interior: Brand-new matching leatherette seat covers, also custom-made by Top Flight Sails.
### Performance & Handling
This Rans is perfectly rigged and an absolute joy to fly.
Handling: Flies completely "hands-off" in calm air. Excellent short-field (STOL) landing capabilities.
VNE: 110 mph
Cruise Economics:
Sits happily at 75–80 mph burning just 14–15 Lph.
Will sit at 90 mph in calm air burning 18 Lph.

Mechanical & Structural: 10/10. Meticulously maintained and flown regularly.
