Background
Due to unpaid hanger fees accrued over an extended time period. The airstrip owner wishes to dispose of a Jodel 1051 project in order to make better use of the space.
The aircraft was subject to a landing incident (ground loop) at a remote airfield and assessed by the insurance company as not commercially viable to repair on costs grounds. The owner agreed a settlement fee with the insurance company and retained ownership with the intention of repairing it.
Work started under the supervision of an LAA Inspector and good progress was made but then stopped around 3 to 4 years ago (reasons unknown, but not related to the aircraft). The wing has been carefully repaired and recovered in Ceconite, doped and finished up to the silver UV protection stage. The wing has airbrakes fitted. The fuselage, tailplane and elevator were all undamaged although since have been professionally repainted to a good standard as part of the rebuild. The undercarriage remains in its damaged state following the ground loop. There is no engine (0-200), propeller and I understand the ailerons are also missing. The panel has been removed as this was sent away to be upgraded. It is believed most of the other parts are present such as fittings, controls, cowls etc.
Despite numerous calls and messages sent to the owner over the years regarding unpaid hanger fees, and more recently, repeated messages and calls informing the owner that the aircraft will be disposed of, there has been no contact forthcoming from the registered owner. Having now given fair warning, the airfield owner has no option but to sell off the remaining components to recover some of the hanger fees owed.
As a result, these parts are offered for sale as a single lot. Inspection can be facilitated subject to prior arrangement.
