Wilco Aviation are pleased to exclusively present to the market a 1/4 share in this Cirrus Design SR20 G2, registration G-CHPG, currently based at Dunkeswell Aerodrome in the South West of England.
The Cirrus SR20 is a well-known American piston-engine aircraft offering seating for four, or up to five depending on configuration, and featuring a modern composite monoplane design. Built by Cirrus Aircraft of Duluth, Minnesota, the SR20 first entered production in 1999 and was the company’s first type-certified aircraft, having received certification in 1998. Since its introduction, the SR20 has become one of the most recognisable and widely used aircraft in general aviation, valued for its performance, comfort and forward-thinking safety features.
A key innovation of the SR20 was the introduction of the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). This whole-aircraft parachute was the first of its kind installed in a production general aviation aircraft and is designed to safely lower the aircraft to the ground in the event of serious emergencies such as loss of control, structural failure, or mid-air collision. The SR series was also among the first light aircraft to feature all-composite construction combined with modern flat-panel avionics, setting new standards for design and cockpit technology within its class.
In 2004, Cirrus introduced the SR20 G2 (Generation 2), an improved version of the original aircraft. This variant incorporated a number of refinements and upgrades, including the introduction of the Avidyne Entegra glass cockpit avionics suite, providing enhanced situational awareness and modern cockpit capability.
This particular aircraft, G-CHPG, is a 2006 example and is equipped with the Avidyne Entegra avionics suite, further enhanced by a pair of upgraded Avidyne IFD440 NAV/COM/GPS units along with an Avidyne AXP340 transponder, providing a well-equipped and capable avionics package suitable for both touring and instrument flying.
The share being offered represents a 1/4 ownership in the aircraft, which is currently owned and operated by a group of four individuals. One of the group members is a qualified flight instructor, meaning differences training can be provided to the new co-owner by a suitably qualified instructor, helping to ensure a smooth and straightforward transition onto the type.
A fresh annual inspection has recently been completed, meaning the aircraft is fully prepared and ready to fly for its new co-owner.
All Airworthiness Directives (ADs) and Service Bulletins (SBs) have been complied with on this fully IFR-capable aircraft.
