Description
G AMYD is looking for a new owner/owners. Built in 1953 first owner the Cranfield College of Aeronautics until 1979 having done 3,320 hours.
Austers are known for being strongly built, this J5L is aerobatic to +4.5g.
Recovered in Ceconite in the early 2000, retained in its original colours silver/blue, except for it's dayglo red nose!
My ownership since 2022, much upgrading done. New leather upholstery seats and door cards. Re-wired, and undercarriage shock cords in 2024.
New Funke radio and transponder.
Total airframe hours 3,892.
Engine: Gipsy Major 10 Mk 2 Total hours 792. Rebuilt starter motor , fuel pumps and impulse magneto.
Fairey Reed Metal Prop
LAA permit valid until May 2026 which I will renew.
Based at Wickenby, can fly for a viewing, any inspection welcome.
