Summary
A brilliant aircraft, I have flown 30 hours over the past winter and enjoyed every moment. Rotax 912UL with only 50 hours total time. Considering selling to buy something with greater payload.
Description
A great example of the type which has been built to a really high standard. I have owned it since last October and put 30 hours on it over the winter. It flies brilliantly and the engine has started first time every time and is incredibly smooth- as it should be with only 50 hours from new. I am looking to replace it with something with a greater payload as, at 100 Kg myself, this doesn't leave much room for passengers and a sensible amount of fuel. For a pilot of under 80 kg the aircraft would work really well. At MTOW the performance is great and short strips are no problem atall.
The handling is as good as the reviews suggest and this Cygnet has been built with the tall canopy option and a carbon fibre seat pan to maximise head room. I am 6'2" and fit nicely though you wouldn't want to be much taller. I have flown in comfort for 2 hours without wanting to stop for a break. It is a very easy taildragger with great manners and exceptional visibility. A really good baggage compartment makes it ideal for trips away. Cruises nicely at 85-90 knots and operates from short strips with ease, a great combination. 60 Litre tank and 14 litres per hour gives a great range.
Various options available with the panel. Price includes basic VFR panel but I could include the currently fitted mode S transponder, Funke 8.33 radio / intercoms system, Karardia Horis Efis for a higher price. Happy to discuss options.
Max takeoff weight is 499Kg. Empty weight 330KG. With a couple of hours of fuel this leaves 140 Kg's for pilot and passenger and luggage. For many people this would be fine but for me at 100 Kg it means most passengers take the aircraft above mtow if I carry a sensible amount of fuel.
Serious enquiries only please. Happy to meet serious buyers at airfields like Popham, Goodwood, White Waltham etc in the southeast if you cover landing fee and fuel (refundable if you buy ofcourse!) This is a SEP / Group A aircraft, not a microlight so requires suitable license.
