Description
Thanks to AFORS we had a significant amount of interest in the share from a wide range of pilots for the shares that we had available earlier this year and were not able to accommodate all those who were interested
The Golf Juliet Flying Group, who were established 40 years ago are based at Fishburn Airfield close to the A1 motorway in the North East of England is prepared to place interested GA pilots on a waiting list to enable a those interested in joining the Group to be considered immediately a share is available.
The Group operates a Piper Archer 11 181 permanently hangered at Fishburn Airfield in its own purpose built steel hangar. The aircraft is maintained to a high standard in a CAMO provided by Sherburn Engineering Ltd and maintained in a very good condition. A tug is provided for single handed moving in and out of the Hangar.
Fishburn Airfield in Durham in the North East is a delightful well maintained airfield with a very active and helpful GA community, it is a grass airfield, with self service discounted fuel for resident aircraft , and a café restaurant open six days a week.
The Aircraft is well equipped for its primary operation for pleasure VFR flying from Fishburn Airfield and its performance is well suited to the Airfields runway.
The requirements for full members would be 100 hrs total SEP time, with good experience of GA airfields of varying runway lengths, surfaces and operational procedures.
The Annual payment is reviewed at the AGM along with the hourly rate (tacho)which is variable according to the cost of fuel . Monthly accounts for flying are sent out by the Group Treasurer.
The average hourly cost at present based on a Member flying 20 hrs per annum is in the region of £200 per hr, well competitive with flying club rates considering the performance and quality of the Piper Archer with a higher cruise speed than most club PA28's, the freedom to take the aircraft for a full days, even a week disregarding the hrs flown, home landing fees included along with many other airfields on a reciprocal basis, no delays at the hold on departure or orbits on return as with large airports and no security pass charges
The Group flying availability is very good with many of the members flying together, taking the aircraft away for a day or more is not a problem, and no restriction to flying anywhere in the UK or Europe.
The Share price is competitively priced at £6000
We are always happy to receive interest from suitable pilots, and meet up at Fishburn, to demonstrate the benefits and quality of the Aircraft, its Hangar and the delightful Fishburn Airfield without any commitment .
We are also happy to hold pilots contact details on record and advise of future share availability
