Description
This is difficult. God knows, it's tough. But needs must.
I'm selling my share in G-BLUV, an amazing Grob 109B motorglider based in North Weald.
Here's how it works: you take off from a tarmac runway (no waterlogging!), cruise in comfort at 90 knots burning about 15 ltr/hour, perhaps switch off the engine and do some soaring in the spring themals, then land at a 600m grass strip or, pehaps, a gliding site to enjoy the well-earned coffee.
You then come back, timing your arrival to see the sun setting over London, put the covers on, and transfer the princely sum of GBP 55/hour wet to the group's coffers.
Or maybe - members of the group have done this - you take her to France, or to the Czech Republic, or even to Morocco! It's never a problem: availability is great, and the group, very supportive of people going on adventures.
We're a lovely bunch, a healthy, well-run syndicate with enough money in the bank to avoid cash calls, and an active, friendly WhatsApp group chat.
The boring bits: 4000 for 1/8th of the aeroplane, 90/month, 55/hour wet.
You need a TMG rating on your PPL (or on your gliding licence) - the group is very happy to facilitate that.
