Description

I'm sadly giving up trying to start a syndicate for either a three-axis microlight or an aerobatic GA aeroplane in South Suffolk/North Essex. I've tried, but what's the point? Pilot numbers are falling, the authorities clearly don't want us and airfields are closing in favour of housing (why not build on the land NEXT TO the airfield, instead, eh?), endless industrial estates (for what industry, exactly?) and, in one case, to grow potatoes for bl**dy crisps. CRISPS! That's great for the nation's health, isn't it? I suppose it'll help the economy by boosting Ozempic sales. Why not really go for it and grow tobacco or Skunk? Then there's the cost of the aeroplane. New GA and microlight aircraft are too expensive for normal folk, older aircraft are expensive to maintain. And, of course, you've got to find hangar space. Put that on the list alongside finding hen's teeth and rocking horse poo. And can you imagine what's going to happen when unmanned drones start mingling with us?
Good luck with it all!
