Description

Bonehead PilotX Flying Helmet. Hardly used, this helmet was bought for flying a single seat high performance aerobatic light aircraft with minimal headroom. It has an ANR module fitted (battery powered) and is comfortable, light and quiet to wear. Here is the description from Bonehead Composites:

The PilotX is Bonehead Composites' flight helmet that addresses the need for a low-profile communication helmet tailored to aircraft with limited headroom. Constructed of vacuum molded carbon fiber and fiberglass, this lite weight helmet packs a punch when it comes to completing the mission. The shell features a quick release chin strap buckle and adjustable strap, nape strap, visor snaps, and fastened ABS ear cups with comfort foam seals for sound attenuation. A Velcro fastened top liner, adjustable with foam shims, completes the fitting. The total weight of the helmet is under 2 pounds including comms! The PilotX is suitable for both fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft.

It comes with a tinted and brand new clear visor and optional gel earcups. If you were to buy this from the manufacturer in the USA, it would be $1,900 plus VAT and delivery on import which makes it about £1,775 at today's exchange rates. Support from Bonehead is superb and spare parts if required are readily available.
