Summary
This Chipmunk is owned by an ageing syndicate and has been underutilised for several years.
A new permit was just issued (6th Aug 2026), and there are only 292 hours on the engine SMOH.
The price has now been reduced to £44,000 for this well-maintained aircraft, complete with the new Permit.
Description
G-BBMZ has been owned by the current syndicate since March 1984 and a number of the original members are still involved.
Transferred onto a Permit in 2012, the aircraft has been very well maintained and is overall in very good condition. NEW PERMIT ISSUED 6th August 2026.
Engine has done approx 300 hours SMOH.
Very good levels of fatigue hours remain, and there has been a low level of utilisation over the last ten years - all of which have been on role factor 1.
The Chipmunk is based at Wycombe Air park (Booker) and has always been hangared.
Over the last two years maintenance work has included the replacement of all the oil and fuel hoses on the engine, new engine mounts (bolts and rubbers), undercarriage yoke joints rebushed, full set (60) of new main undercarriage rubbers installed, new tail wheel yoke rubbers, new sliding blocks on the canopy (all three), new brake linings, new flap cables etc
